Pumpkins, Gourds, Squash, Mums and More

We have small, medium and large PUMPKINS, a wide assortment of decorative GOURDS and colorful MUMS to brighten your home.

Winter squash is in, and not just the usual butternut, acorn, spaghetti and buttercup, all of which we do have. To expand your palate, we also have hubbard squash, and several types of Delicata and Kabocha squash. Not sure what to do with it? Check out our recipe door!

Many other vegetables are still available: beans, beets, eggplant, lettuce, summer squash & zucchini, red & white potatoes, red & yellow onions, garlic, leeks, kale and tomatoes – cherry and large. The tomato special was such a big hit we have decided to make it permanent – the more you buy, the less you pay per pound.

And we can’t forget RASPBERRIES – yellow and red are available for picking along with flowers for that added special touch and many herbs for tea, drying or adding flavor to the meal.

Raspberry Field Closed Friday September 11

Due to the heavy rain the raspberry field will be closed to picking on Friday Sept 11. It will re-open on Saturday Sept 12 at 9 am. The farm stand will be open on Friday as will the flower field and herb garden. Come on out to the farm for fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers and herbs!

Labor Day Weekend Special

We will be running a special on Tomatoes for the weekend beginning on Friday and running through Monday (yes – we will be open on Labor Day). They are great on the burger, sandwich, salad or eating alone. Or maybe you want to begin putting tomatoes up for the long cold winter (don’t read the Farmers Almanac if you want a warm winter). We have small, medium and large tomatoes as well as Yellow and Red cherry tomatoes.

Rain and Raspberries

We and all our plants are loving the rain today. Irrigation is good but rain is better. However, because of all the rain the raspberry field will be closed Wednesday August 12 and will re-open Thursday August 13 at 9 am.

The summer raspberries are just about done and the fall red & yellow raspberries are ripening rapidly.

The final days for picking blueberries will be this coming weekend, August 14-16 or until they are picked clean.

Berry Update

The final days for picking blueberries will be this coming weekend, August 14-16 or until they are picked clean. This is also the final week to pick summer raspberries. The fall red raspberries are coming in now and the yellow raspberries will be coming in next week.

Blueberry Field

Our blueberry field is young and when picked heavily for several days, needs a break from picking to ripen more berries for easy picking. Therefore, the blueberry field will be closed Tuesday-Thursday, re-opening on Friday August 7 at 9 am. The raspberry, cut flower and herb fields will be open all week.

Time to Freeze Vegetables for the Winter

Every so often Mary gets in a planting mood and doesn’t stop until the end of a 250 foot row. She did that this spring in two rows and the result is an over-abundance of yellow squash and zucchini squash. So this weekend only (Friday, Saturday and Sunday – July 31-August 2) we will be selling the squash at $1.00 per pound! Come get enough to freeze for use this coming winter. Check out our Recipe Door for new ideas.

Any while we are thinking of freezing – put beets and beans away now for winter meals as well.
Or for those who make pickles, our pickling cucumbers are being harvested daily along with our regular cucumbers.

In addition, we are digging red potatoes, and have harvested and cured our garlic. All available, along with many other vegetables, at our farmstand. For berry lovers, we are still picking blueberries and red raspberries.

Flower Arranging Class

We will be holding a flower arranging class on Wednesday July 29 at 6 pm. Beginners to experienced flower arrangers are invited to join us in the flower field for a fun filled evening sipping raspberry lemonade, enjoying time with old and new friends, and discovering your artistic side.

Registration is required by calling 860-786-7486, or email info@raspberryknoll.com or sign up at the farmstand.

Cost is the flowers you choose. Bring a container or buy one of ours. Bring your own pruners or borrow ours.
